Using DigiDaub's Auto feature can result in quite complex images. You can create a simpler image, and additionally have a bit more control over the image produced by DigiDaub, by proceeding as follows:
1. Create a palette, or use the default one provided.
2. Choose a background.
3. Possibly change the palette (or press the [R] key for a randomly produced palette)
4. Press the space bar. DigiDaub will add a new design element to the canvas.
5. Don't like it? Press the [Backspace] key to revert to the last canvas.
6. Want to add an effect at random? Press the [+] key. As above, if you don't like the result press the [Backspace] key
7. Continue doing this, changing the palette as often as you wish, until the image pleases you.
8 You can of course, break this cycle to make your own choice of design element or effect to be added to the canvas via the menu selections.
9. You can save the current canvas as you go by pressing the [S] key.
10. Don't forget to save your final image if you want to keep it, probably by placing it in a folder of your choice rather than the DigiDaub default folder.

Alternative Plasma Effect
How to make quick plasma-type effects with DigiDaub.
Start by applying a busy background. I chose Crazy with a random palette.
Next, apply Extreme Blur.
Now apply Brighten to taste
Choose a new palette and apply Sequence Recolour.
And again for a different look to the same image.
You could then apply Extreme Blur again to last image for a smoother finish.
Now select another, possibly random, palette.
This is the result of using yet another random palette.
All from that one original image in double quick time.

Playing with DigiDaub
Friend George M Holloway sent me an image of himself turned into an alien. By loading the image into DigiDaub, recolouring it, then making a temporary copy of it I was able to modify the original by experimental with various features of DigiDaub, including adding shapes and applying effects in an almost ha-hazard way. This is one of the fun aspects of DigiDaub - just trying out various combinations. By blending the copied image with the image on the Canvas made the 'alien' stand out more in the final image as seen here.
Here are further images saved whilst experimenting. I also blended some texture images.

Photo fun
How to get from this:
to this with DigiDaub7:
1. Edit: Copy this image
2. Colours: One colour. Select white.
3. Colour Effects: Turn Black on Colour. You may have to use Colour Effects: Lighten if your original image is a bit dark. Lightening will help bring out more detail in the resulting black and white image.
4. Edit: Blend copied image. Use whatever strength you find gives the best result. As with most of the DigiDaub design elements you can apply a process more than once, so you might find, for example, using Blend copied image at the weak level twice might give a better result than using the medium level just once.
5. Finally, Colour Effects. Use one of the Recolour effects. If you use Sequence Recolour remember to change you palette first.
